The Society works closely with Basildon District Council, the owner and manager of this ancient woodland (located in Billericay in the English County of Essex) to promote the interests of this Ancient Monument, Local Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The popular annual event for children celebrating National Tree Week when they make decorations and see them put on a tree, will be held at Norsey Wood on 7th December. Please see full details here.

We look forward to seeing you at the Society's talk on 26th January 2009 at the Billericay Day Centre, starting at 7.45pm.  Barry Kaufman-Wright will give an illustrated talk "In Celebration of Trees".

This will be preceded by a short AGM

Norsey Woodland Crafts, to be found in the woodyard behind Norsey Wood Centre, now has a website, albeit still in the development stage. The email address and phone number can be found there now at: www.norseywoodlandcrafts.co.uk

Visitors will have noticed that some trees in the area close to the Centre and near main paths have been lopped or felled. This is in the interest of safety. Please keep children and dogs well clear of any such activity in the future.

If you notice any tree or branch near a path that looks dangerous or has fallen across a path, please inform the Warden at the Centre or on 01277 624553. Thank you!
