Norsey Wood Sign
Norsey Wood lies to the North-east of Billericay in the English county of Essex at Ordnance Survey map reference TQ 691 956 (for the Information Centre)

The town of Billericay is situated at the junction of the B1007 (from Chelmsford and the A12) and the A129 in the county of Essex (see Route to Norsey Wood).

The town itself is old, with numerous finds of Roman origin, the High Street church of St Mary Magdalen built in the 14th century, the site of the last battle of the Peasants' Revolt in 1381, many buildings dating from Medieval and Georgian times and strong links with the Pilgrim Fathers and the voyage of the "Mayflower".
